Catamaran Experience & Miles

You may be thinking of chartering a catamaran for your next sailing vacation, or buying one for extended cruising. Or, you may be wondering if you can really learn how to help your partner in this kind of adventure. Experience is the teacher as your instructor helps gain the confidence you want, and the competence you need to handle the boat, the sails, navigation and anchoring, or just your part of it, backed up by expert instruction and coaching on board. All the practical experience is supported by the extensive resources of the online NauticEd coursework.

Have Fun, and Learn a Ton

First, the Sea of Cortez is an amazing place to sail, and with the instructor’s guidance you’ll learn to explore and navigate your way as the voyage progresses. Get the instructor to tell you and show you everything you want to know. You can also relax when you want to, and when we reach the next anchorage you can explore ashore, snorkel, kayak, have a margarita, all of it.

Anchoring in Remote Locations

Sizing up a new anchorage is a skill to be developed, and there will be many opportunities. Seeing it done, participating directly, and then taking charge with back up from the instructor is the way we do it. Developing your confidence and competence when anchoring will open up the whole world of cruising for you.

Responding to Changing Conditions

Is the wind coming out of the south tonight? Is it blowing out of the north tomorrow? Should we stay put as the wind builds or can we find shelter in the next anchorage? We will answer those questions, and you will see how to respond to changing conditions.

Building Confidence and Competence

On these voyages you will be led by an instructor who knows what you want to know, who has been where you want to go, and can answer questions you did not know enough to ask.

This could be just the right trip for you…
