– About Multi-Day Sailing Adventures –

A multi-day sailing adventure is a unique and exhilarating experience that allows you to connect with nature in a way that is hard to describe. You will find it both relaxing and challenging at different times as you begin to develop the physical and mental skills of sailing. And, a stunning new cove at the end of each day is its own reward.

This is really about learning how to take a multi-day sailing adventure on your own, and for some, sailing certifications are achievable. For others, the experience of just being out there is all they need.

Every day you will particpate in routine checks, consider the weather forecast, make a passage plan, weigh anchor and go sailing. You will learn how we navigate to the next cove and choose the best place to anchor. And then we get to take the dinghy ashore to explore, or go for a snorkel, or just relax.

3-Day Introductory or 5-Day Intensive

Sailing and Cruising Skills

    • Geneeral safety and seamanship.
    • Navigation: visual, electronic, chart work.
    • Sail trim, reefing, managing power.
    • Spinnaker if conditions allow.
    • Helmsmanship, steering to the trim, heaving-to.
    • Crew overboard rescue maneuvers.
    • Anchoring.
    • Dinghy operations.
    • Daily routines and checklists.

The 3-Day Immersive Introduction Makes Sense When…

  • Your time is limited but you still want to get out there.
  • You want to find out if the whole multiday sailing thing is for you.
  • You are looking to get back into cruising after a long time away from sailing.
  • You are starting your sailing journey and want to charter or buy your own boat one day.

The 5-Day Intensive Course Makes Sense When…

  • You have novice-intermediate skills and want to go farther and experience more remote anchorages.
  • You and your partner want to round out your skills and improve your teamwork.
  • You have intermediate to strong sailing skills and want to get your Bareboar Charter Master Certification/SLC.*
  • You want to just come along for the experience and take it all in.

*BBCM/SLC certification candidates have significant online course work and sea-time requirements.

Bareboat Charter Master and SLC certification

BBCM certification from NauticEd is recognized internationally, and with appropriate experience on their resume, enables skippers to charter sailing yachts globally. Mediterranean destinations and the Seychelles, in addition to BBCM, also require the SLC Mediterranean Sailing License.
