Join Our Sea of Cortez Flotilla
February 7-14, 2026
You may have heard about or seen pictures of the dramatic Sea of Cortez, north of La Paz. It’s still my favorite place to sail and explore, and I’d like to share the experience with you. This is our 11th year running sailing trips in the Sea of Cortez, and our 4th Flotilla with NauticEd.
What’s a Flotilla?
A group of bareboat charterers, led by Capt Marc Hughston, depart La Paz for a week-long sailing adventure visiting the best places the Sea of Cortez has to offer. You’ll be in company with like-minded sailors enjoying the camaraderie and support of the group, either with a cabin on the lead boat, or commanding your own bareboat charter catamaran or monohull. Click here for more about NauticEd Flotillas.
Why Join?
For fun. For experience. To benefit from hard earned local knowledge about the best places to anchor, explore ashore, snorkel, buy local fish, and the best places to be when the wind and weather change. Plus, we offer provisioning and cruise prep recommendations, host a welcome dinner at the marina, have a radio net out on the water, and follow it with a post cruise party at the marina. This is a huge shortcut for learning the Sea of Cortez, a place you will want to return to again and again.
How to Join?
- Cabin Charter. Take a cabin on the lead boat with Capt Marc Hughston, on the Lagoon 46 Catamaran Lula. We do the provisioning and meal planning, with breakfast, lunch, and dinner each day. Plus, get catamaran experience and learn anchoring, navigation, sail trim, and maneuvering under power. Or, just relax and enjoy! Double occupancy cabins are $4,700 + $200 per person for provisions. BYO Alcohol.
